Build Your Own" Bicycle Cargo Trailer

Materials: (cost about $130 in 2009)
white glue
a box or two of 1 3/4" screws
10 carraige bolts 1 1/2" long, lock washers, nuts
house paint
3/4" plywood - for front and bottom
1/2" plywood - for sides and rear
1/4" plywood - for top
1" X 1" pine - for strenthening top
2" x 1/8" steel - for forks (30" ->36" times 2, depending on size of wheels)
2 wheels - found, any reasonable size (greater than 16")
the hitch hardware
fabricated by wrought iron shop as per drawing
2 "theatre" hinges - the kind that slide apart, to make top easily removeable.
1 or 2 battery operated flashing tail lights
Tools needed to build: simple carpentry tools
electric drill and bits
Robertson screwdriver
electric jigsaw with steel cutting blades ( to cut out the notches for the axles to fit into)

wood-cutting blades to
vise - to hold the steel to bend (yes, by hand!) into "fork" shape
crescent wrench.
